    Marine Conservation

    Tour Details

As Indonesia is an archipelago and considered to be one of the most biodiverse but threatened marine areas on the planet, number of initiatives run by the coastal communities to preserve the ecosystems in oceans and seas in Indonesia are growing. Therefore, some support from a volunteer program will bring a valuable contribution. Currently there are numbers of different projects in concern to marine conservation, such as protections of coral reef, mangrove forests, and turtles (and many other species for other destinations).

The project is not only available in Belitung, but also other areas in Indonesia starting from the Eastern part such as Raja Ampat to the Northern part such as Pulau Weh. Please contact us for more details regarding location and post.

As an initial point of this Volunteer Project, you will have an induction program to introduce you about the background of the project, Indonesian culture, and (basic) knowledge of Indonesian language. During the Volunteer Project, you will also have the opportunity to explore the island with us. And after the Volunteer Project end, we will also update you about the development of the project that you have supported, so that you can stay updated on the result of your volunteer project.

    Local Expert and Facilitator

During this Volunteer Project, you will be guided by a local facilitator who's also act as a translator (when needed) and lead by a local expert on marine conservation.
